Over Memorial Day weekend, the mister and I went to his hometown on the Western Slope, which, for all of you on this side of Pikes Peak, means the other side of the state. It was the first time we've visited Montrose since we got married. That side of the state is amazing! There are so many gorgeous things over there that I had no idea about, including the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park or something. It was stunning, and I loved it.

This is the highest cliff in Colorado and is higher than the Empire State Building, as the next picture so cleverly shows.

I saved the best for last. While we were at Rockstar's childhood home enjoying the fellowship with his parents, he found a bunch of cool things from when he was little, including a fake-fur beard from when he dressed up like Abraham Lincoln. AND the guitar he made for the pretend band he and his brother were in called "The Top Secret Brothers".
Prophetically, they would end up in a band together for 10 years, and Rockstar would play the guitar. Though it wouldn't be 16 strings like this one, it would be left-handed! And the cut-away would actually be facing the correct direction.
The amazingly cool thing, though, about the mistake with the cut-away facing the wrong direction is that the cardboard guitar could also double as a cardboard boxing glove for hitting your kid brother.
