Day Eighty-Eight
Last night a friend told me that friends of hers were separated; the husband is currently staying with my friend and is paralyzed in moving forward and winning his wife back. It led into a conversation about the passivity of an entire generation of Christian men and how damaging it has been to all of us. So today I am praying for men. I pray that they will not be passive but will be passionate and assertive about pursuing their wives and leading. I pray that they will submit to older men and seek out friends and mentors who will teach them to be godly, manly men. I pray that they will be confident in their role as husbands and their calling to love their brides as Christ loves the church. I pray that churches will raise men as men and will fight against emasculation. I pray that older men will seek ways to understand and teach manhood and that it will become a major priority in the church. I pray that men will will be fighters--that they will fight for manhood, marriage, their wives, and their children. That they will be empowered by their biblical calling and their design as men. I praise God for the diversity between the genders and how wonderfully they complement each other in relationships.
